Experienced in editing B2B and B2C newsletters? Remedia Europe seeks an innovative professional to fill an editor’s role driving newsletter publication at Brussels Signal, one of Europe’s most exciting news media start-ups.
As one of the leaders of the editorial team, this editor plays a principal role in developing and editing newsletters, including both written and video content, collaborating with other editorial
leadership to direct a team responsible for developing, writing, commissioning, editing and publishing content to meet daily news, opinion, newsletter and video output. The editor enjoys significant opportunity to shape the output of this new media outlet and develop new audio-visual content, with a particular focus on our most popular products – the newsletters.

The Brussels Signal team delivers reporting that questions prevailing ideas and policies, demands accountability from decision-makers, and counters the groupthink that shuts out critical voices on the questions
confronting the Europe of today and tomorrow.
The editor collaborates closely with other editorial and business staff to serve our growing audience with newsletters. The editor reports directly to the chief executive officer of Remedia
Europe and will work closely with management in the development and editorial operation of this new media outlet.
The responsibilities of the position will include:
- Developing and editing newsletters – both B2B and B2C – for the growing Brussels Signal dashboard of general news, analysis and specialty offerings
- Focusing in collaboration with senior staff on audience growth and engagement through these new media products
- Identifying and recruiting new writers and talent to contribute to podcasts and newsletters
- Playing a leadership role on the editorial team and collaborating closely with other editors to ensure smooth operation and quality output
- Deciding, in collaboration with other editors, the daily coverage – news, commentary, newsletters and video
- Developing policies, editorial positions, and ensuring professional standards
- Approving the newsletter’s layout, design, style and tone – and, ultimately, the content that gets published
- Writing and editing original material daily to be published in newsletters as well as on the social media channels
- Daily copy editing of content to be published in the newsletters and on social media channels
- Developing and managing budgets for the newsletter team
- Developing other new content, in collaboration with editorial staff to generate growth for the brand and the page
- Collaborating closely with publisher and business team to meet business goals
Qualifications:
- At least five years of professional journalism or content creator experience at mid-level with particular focus on newsletters.
- Audio and video digital media production experience a definite plus
- Substantial experience with email newsletter production, editing and list growth; advanced proficiency with email marketing platforms like ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp or other similar
- Knowledge of European and EU politics and policy
- Team management experience
- Native or fluent English language skills (proficiency in other European languages a plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- University degree — Bachelor´s degree or equivalent; advance degree a plus
Other requirements:
The position will require the editor to be in Brussels. In exceptional cases, the editor may work remotely (at facilities provided for at the editor’s own expense) but be required to interact with
other members of the team frequently via video and messaging applications and workflow management tools.
