Members of German left-wing group Antifa have apparently claimed responsibility for an arson attack on the car of right-wing politician Bernd Baumann in Hamburg, Germany.
A letter of confession was posted by anonymous users yesterday on website Indymedia, which often serves as a platform for Antifa proclamations.
The letter gives Baumann’s exact address and urged readers to take action against “the everyday, murderous, racist practices of Nazis, ordinary people and police officers” with “hammers or incendiary devices”.
The authors also make a reference to assassinated US Conservative activist Charlie Kirk, writing: “All you damn’ MAGA freaks, you will follow Kirk to hell!”
At 3am yesterday, unidentified perpetrators reportedly set Baumann’s car ablaze in front of his house in Othmarschen, a quiet residential district of Hamburg in northern Germany.
Baumann is a prominent MP with the right-wing Alternative for Germany party (AfD).
The BMW was burned out completely. Three vehicles parked next to Baumann’s car also caught fire and were destroyed. A fourth car and a fence were partially damaged by the fire.
Last night the car of the AfD politician Dr. Bernd Baumann was set on fire outside his home.
3 other cars caught fire and were also destroyed.
This is antifa terrorism in Germany.

The Hamburg police said an investigation into suspected arson and “potentially politically motivated property damage” had been launched and asked witnesses to come forward.
Baumann told Welt TV today that he had been the target of similar attacks in the past: “That is the fifth car that is set ablaze in front of my house in roughly a year,” he said
“My house is being attacked all the time. My wife is really afraid.”
He added that assailants had also torched a car belonging to his tenant last year. “The tenant moved out immediately out of fear. I cannot rent out the apartment to anybody since then,” Baumann said.
He complained that investigations into the attacks were routinely being closed as police said they could not identify the perpetrators.
“There is no real investigative pressure. We know where Antifa lives. They are being financed by the state. There is a city foundation which covers the rent and utilities for Rote Flora [a hard-left event location in the centre of Hamburg],” he said.
“If the perpetrators were right-wingers, I believe they would have been caught a long time ago. Now we are seeing the sprouting of the seeds of demonisation, which have been planted for a long time.”
