Migrant drugs gang in Sweden ‘act as Iranian operatives’

Notorious Swedish migrant drugs gang Foxtrot has been looking for drone pilots for missions in Sweden, Denmark and Germany at the behest of the Iranian regime, Swedish media reported.

According to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, local police had information that the Foxtrot network has been actively seeking out recruits via encrypted chats.

Those who did not want to be involved were said to have been threatened and also told they would be seen as enemies of gang leader Rawa Majid, public broadcaster SVT reported.

A series by the broadcaster connected at least seven completed and planned acts against Israeli interests in Sweden, Denmark and Belgium to the Foxtrot network.

Sources from within Foxtrot stated that Majid, through his network, had carried out acts against the Iranian regime’s enemies in return for being allowed to stay in Iran.

The Foxtrot Network has been described as a transnational criminal organisation primarily based in Sweden, known for trafficking illicit drugs and carrying out violent attacks. The gang has been involved in various criminal activities, including shootings, contract killings and assaults.

Majid, the Kurdish leader, has been a fugitive and is known to have co-operated with the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

It was already suspected Foxtrot worked with Iranian intelligence in attacks on Israeli embassies and Jewish targets in light of the war in Gaza.

Now it was thought the Foxtrot network was again working with Iranian intelligence to strike US and Israeli/Jewish targets.

On June 24, the US Embassy in Sweden issued security alert over threat of Iran-backed gang attacks, fearing reprisal attacks over the recent US bombing of its nuclear sites.

“Swedish media reports that Iran may be pressuring local criminal gangs, including the Foxtrot Network, to carry out attacks in Sweden against US and Israeli interests,” the notice said.

“US citizens in Sweden are advised to exercise increased caution and maintain awareness of their surroundings, particularly near the US Embassy.”

In late January 2024, there was an attempted terror attack on the Israeli embassy in Sweden, when an explosive device was found outside the Embassy in Stockholm. It was destroyed by the national bomb squad in a controlled detonation.

An investigation conducted by US newspaper Washington Post in September revealed that Iran had engaged at least five criminal organisations, including the Hells Angels, to execute attacks targeting dissidents, Jewish individuals and Israeli interests across the West.
