A 22-year-old man identified as the son of a Congolese minister remains in custody in Paris, suspected of offering €100,000 for the killing of the Créteil judge investigating him for pimping.
He denies the allegation and is presumed innocent.
According to Le Parisien, as reported on Monday, the suspect, named only as Floriano, was already in prison on the pimping case when he is said to have planned the attack.
With a 36-year-old accomplice, he is suspected of posting a call for the judge’s murder on Telegram in March 2025, claiming to act for the DZ Mafia.
The channel, titled “Brozer mafia,” had more than 5,000 followers.
The post read “DZ Mafia / Contrat de 100 k on his head” and carried the magistrate’s name and photograph.
The judge is an examining magistrate in the Paris region, handling the Créteil file. His name has not been published.
The Junalco, the national court for organised crime, opened an inquiry.
On October 13 last year, both men were charged with participation in a group formed to murder a magistrate, criminal conspiracy, and running an online platform for illicit transactions, and were remanded.
A Paris court confirmed Floriano’s detention on Friday. His lawyer, Alfred Reboul, secured the lifting of his solitary confinement.
Floriano lived a childhood in France free from need thanks to a father who was a former minister and close to the government. “As a teenager, he even took part in the French Championship and the World Equestrian Championship,” a source close to the case told Le Parisien.
However, he went adrift along with his older brother, who was involved drug trade.
The pimping case itself has not been detailed in public. No one has been convicted of placing the bounty.
During the hearings before the investigating magistrate, the young man confessed
Reportedly, the investigations are almost complete and are said to be closed within half a year.
