Kiev buys Bentleys, why let war put a dent in your mood?

Kiev has become one of the strongest Bentley markets in Europe, according to Richard Leopold, Bentley regional director for Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa.

During the European Scorecard Awards 2025 held in Marbella, Spain, Bentley announced the results of its internal Business Performance Matrix, a system evaluating 61 dealerships worldwide. Bentley Kiev received recognition in sales, marketing and best improved.

Kiev is the third strongest market in Europe for Bentley.

Most Bentley models start at between €250,000 and €300,000.

Ukrainian journalist Diana Pachenko publicly questioned whether some of these purchases could be linked to misused funds, suggesting that certain vehicles may ultimately end up in Monaco or southern France.

Panchenko sarcastically remarked: “If Europe hands over another €90 billion to [Ukraine President Volodymyr] Zelensky, there is a good chance that Kiev could take the top spot.”

She further claimed: “Most of these cars end up at villas in Monaco or France,” and argued that “People steal from Ukraine and then move to places like these to live.”

This appears to refer to the situation in which close associates of Zelensky are under investigation by authorities for alleged corruption, including large-scale bribery.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative for Overseas Investment and Economic Co-operation for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is at war with Ukraine, also shared Panchenko’s post on his X account, sarcastically noting: “Bentley is popular in Ukraine.”
