Realitatea Plus, a Romanian news channel, has had its broadcasting licence revoked following multiple regulatory sanctions and alleged unpaid fines, triggering a heated debate over media freedom, political influence, and the enforcement of audiovisual law.
In an interview with Brussels Signal, the channel’s lawyer Gheorghe Piperea and journalist Ana Maria Păcuraru (Realitatea Plus) expressed concerns about media independence and institutional accountability in Romania and across the European Union.
